Updates from an ex-vampire
I’ve been struggling with my sleeping schedule the past few weeks, so I’m happy to report that it’s back on track. Feel like I’ve gone from sleeping like a vampire to sleeping like a self-improvement guru and I can safely say I much prefer the latter.
My days have been kicking off at around 5AM. I’ve been powering down at 9PM, getting into bed by 9:30PM. I haven’t been setting the alarm so I’ve been naturally waking up somewhere between 4:50AM and 5:20AM. This is unlikely to last without an alarm clock but I’m trying not to force it.
I get up and make coffee, put in a load of laundry, journal for however long I need to and then spend about 2-3 hours reading. Afterwards I do some writing.
Today I finished reading The Empires of Atlantis: The Origins of Ancient Civilizations and Mystery Traditions Throughout the Ages and it was super interesting. It led me to watching a few YouTube videos about the Azores because what if.

Then I worked on Chapter 1 of Project Midnight. I did some furious scribbling in my notebook while eating toast, just to get things out of my head and onto paper.

I don’t know yet if I have enough to start writing, but I don’t want to get bogged down with the prep work forever. There’s a lot I can figure out as I go along and a shitty first draft is a lot more useful than a tower of notes.
In other news, I did a little work around the website. I decided that keeping my “notes” on a separate platform was unnecessary. The “notes” section now lives directly on my site. I won’t be pushing those posts via email (don’t want to spam) so feel free to drop by and take a gander from time to time. I publish at least once a day whenever I come across something I feel is worth clipping.
Here are my latest highlights:
- On reading more
- We’re not merely truth-seekers
- How to surf the web
- Path to mastery
- Deeper purpose
- More on reading more (video)
I hope that leads you to something interesting.
