The WoW Forever Beta and other moments of being

So the WoW Forever Beta is in full swing and I’ve been having a blast creating different characters and trying them out. There are many things I love about this new version of the game and I think the new camping feature is top of the list.

Gathering around a campfire with fellow players to chat about this or that while waiting for the communal buff has been really fun. People have been nice and friendly and helpful. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed interacting with fellow players out in the world this much.
And sure there are still jerks stealing nodes or tags or getting you killed but that’s part of the fun, too.
I feel like Blizzard has struck a great balance between old world nostalgia and new/modern features. I can’t wait to see how the game progresses.
Last night I dinged 20 on my Undead Paladin (pictured above) which is as high as I can go for now in the beta, and today I might roll a Gnome Warlock.
The logistics of what race/class to play come launch remains a subject of discussion as I have different friends doing different things with different people. Some want to play Alliance, some want to play Horde.
What I do know is that I want to play a mage because nothing sparks as much joy for me as the game mechanics of classic mages.
To that end, I'll likely be rolling:
- Undead Mage (Horde)
- Skyborn Mage (Alliance)
- Skyborn Druid (Horde) - to play with K’s Skyborn Shaman
But we’ll see where everyone lands.
In other news:
- TBSOL edits continue
- The new gardener still hasn't been by
- I just cancelled my Netflix sub since I'm mostly playing WoW
- And here's something I enjoyed reading from Virginia Woolf's Moments of Being:
From this I reach what I might call a philosophy; at any rate it is a constant idea of mine; that behind the cotton wool is hidden a pattern; that we — I mean all human beings — are connected with this; that the whole world is a work of art; that we are parts of the work of art.
