Jay left early this morning (*sniff*), which means today is all about settling into my usual daily rhythm. I’m not sure what that is anymore, honestly. The week before Jay arrived was spent in a flurry of non-stop activity. Now the apartment looks totally different. You’d think after two weeks we’d be used to it, but it still feels strange.
Jay left this morning and I was sad to see him go. We had a great time. I think the greatest test of true friendship is how flawlessly you can pick things up again – no matter how many years have passed since you last saw each other. I miss you, moo cow.
But the show must go on.
Today is the first day I’ve sat down at my new desk and thought, “Okay. Here I am. This is my office now.” It’s rather magical. Strange. But magical.
K and I are headed to the US next month and we may – at long last – be back in the Tri-State area. Hopefully we’ll get to drop in on Jay and visit some other friends. Going to New York is definitely in the plans. I have some TBSOL research to do before putting the finishing touches on the manuscript (which I admit I haven’t even looked at in three weeks).
Lots of work to do, basically.
Announcements & Things
- The wonderful and talented Lorena Barrios has translated my short story “… and the toilet wouldn’t flush” into Spanish. You may now read it here.
- I’m really enjoying Google+ and will likely be using it often. So if you want to keep up with me across social media platforms, feel free to encircle me (or whatever it’s called in G+ lingo): http://gplus.to/idiaz — So many social media options, so little life to actually update with.
- My recap of Rizzoli & Isles 2.01 will be up on Wednesday at the latest. I’ve missed this show so much!
- Any of you on Tumblr? I’m always looking for cool people to follow.
I’ll leave you with some photos from the past couple of weeks.
