Of Life & Randomness

I really need more coffee…

So, be right back. Here, listen to some Adele while I’m gone (if you like Adele—you don’t have to listen if you don’t want to):

I return. Thank you for waiting!

Where were we? Nowhere? Okay! Let’s go from there.

P1070089Last night, I ran out of pages in my Moleskine of Random Scenes & Dialogue, so I decided to upgrade to a real, hard-cover Moleskine, because I don’t want to have to carry around twenty different notebooks.

I also decided to organize the randomness a little better because in my other one I could never find anything. “Did I write that scene? I thought I’d written it. Please tell me I actually wrote it and didn’t just imagine I wrote it.” Flip. Flip. Flip. “Oh, good—I’m not crazy.” (I should note that sometimes I do think I wrote something down only to find that I did not in fact write it down).

Anyway, you can see the new notebook there on your right, just in case you were really missing my random photos of coffee and notebooks.

Another thing that happened last night is that I wrote the first scene of Chapter 2 (YA novel).

At around 8 A.M. I had an epiphany regarding TBSOL and then fell asleep. So now I’m trying to remember what the epiphany was. I think it had something to do with the beginning of the novel and how it should not start where it started but should instead start somewhere else. Oh well, it will come to me.

Speaking of TBSOL and its edited version, a few people have emailed me in alarm/concern about my edits. And I’m not really sure what you think I’m doing to this novel. I swear I don’t have it tied up in a warehouse somewhere getting whipped and tortured. So, maybe to assure you that the novel remains more or less the same, despite any changes, here’s a snippet of a scene that none of you have read:

“Look, I don’t know. I didn’t wake up knowing exactly what to call myself. I just know that when I’m with her I feel how I should’ve felt all along with Nathan. And I’m not sure if it’s just that I’ve never met a guy who made me feel this way. I just know that I met a girl who does, and I’m not about to walk away from that just because I don’t have it all figured out. You can be confused and still know what you want.”  –Kris, The Blind Side of Love

And now for my amazing drawing of the day.

30 Day Drawing Challenge—Day 17: Your favorite plant

Yep, that’s right. My favorite plant is a magical bean plant. I have several of them in my garden and leprechaun gnomes tend to it while I’m busy with other things.

30 Day Pairings Challenge—Day 17: A pairing you thought would never work out, but did

Honestly? I thought Calzona would last like three episodes. Also? Any lesbian couple on TV. I expect all of them to die or get pregnant and then die.
